The Crowning Place of Scottish Kings
Scone Palace near Perth was the original home of the Stone of Destiny, and the crowning site of the Kings of Scotland until 1651. Located only two miles from Perth, the Palace provides a unique setting for entertainment or business, with absolute exclusivity guaranteed, and is the ideal venue for evening functions and dinners, weddings, product launches, wine tastings, lectures, concerts and photographic shoots. Guests visiting the Palace for functions and corporate events have the opportunity to take advantage of the remarkable State Rooms, which house one of Scotland's finest collections of French and Scottish decorative art, as well as a renowned porcelain collection. The Long Gallery is dominated by a vaulted ceiling and the unique Vernis Martin papier mache collection. The longest room in Scotland, it can seat up to 100 guests at round tables, and provides a truly stunning venue for a Gala Dinner. The State Drawing Room provides an elegant setting for receptions and other events. With an abundance of natural light, it provides a memorable backdrop for photographic shoots in particular. Both civil and religious wedding ceremonies can now be held in the Palace or Grounds. In winter, enjoy roaring fires and candlelit rooms, or in the summer, the expanses of lawn and the flexibility which a marquee can afford. For the ultimate in romance, follow in the footsteps of Scotland's Kings and choose an intimate, candle-lit ceremony in Scone Abbey. The Palace has recently launched a new partnership with Heritage Hospitality, one of Scotland's most exclusive catering suppliers. Ian D'Annunzio and his team have created a new house style for functions and events at Scone. The initiative includes the introduction of brand new menus focusing on seasonal produce from local, hand-picked suppliers, as well as a new wine list, and plated service. The parklands at the Palace, with spectacular views over the River Tay, provide a superb location for sporting activities including archery, falconry, clay pigeon shooting, and off-road driving. In partnership with Blue Sky Experiences of Perth, the Palace can offer high quality multi-activity and team building days. Guests also have full access to the extensive Grounds which surround the Palace, including over 100 acres of cultivated gardens, rolling lawns, parklands, and historical woodlands. The Palace hosts a number of events throughout the year, including musical evenings and theatre performances. This year a programme of special events will be held to celebrate the 700th anniversary of the inauguration of Robert the Bruce to the Scottish throne, including a spectacular Pageant Weekend from 29th April - 1st May.
