Bin the bags!

It amazes me that when we are all being told to be more environmentally aware, that I have never seen as much packaging…it's everywhere!!

Here are a couple of personal examples:

Bought an electrical item. It was inside a plastic bag, which was inside a bubble bag. This was lodged inside a polystyrene shaped forme, which was inside another larger bag inside a cardboard box!

Bought a doll for my 8-year-old daughter: This little doll was inside a cardboard box. On opening I found that the doll was inside a plastic bubble shaped to her body sealed with tape. Then it was strapped onto the backing board with plastic wire and solid plastic plates…1/2 an hour later it was free and the pile of packaging was huge!

Bought groceries from Morrisons supermarket: Each individual green and red pepper was wrapped in a clinging plastic coating. I couldn't touch or smell them for freshness…quite disgusting really!

What's going on here and everywhere else?

Does business really give a crap about our environment?

I laughed so much I almost cancelled my BBQ!!

Joking aside, this is serious stuff; these guys are not taking the planets problem serious enough. It's no good you and me as individuals putting this in one bin and that in another bin, if out there in the world of commerce no-one gives a damn.

So am off to join the SNP!! (Strictly No Packaging).
