The ChamberBusiness Fair and beyondby Maureen Young, Director Perthshire Chamber of CommercePerthshire Chamber of Commerce is heading for another sellout event with its 8th annual Perthshire Business Fair attracting exhibitors from across the country. Over 100 businesses will use the showcase event to promote their expertise at the Dewars Centre in Perth on Wednesday, May 10, between 10am and 6pm. And leading Scottish businessman Raymond Miquel CBE has been lined up to officially open the event and speak at the lunch for around 300 PCC members and guests. The former chairman and managing director of Arthur Bell & Sons is no stranger to Perthshire and his fascinating and inspirational stories from both his business and sporting successes through life will ensure the current chairman and MD of Lees Foods a captivated audience. As local businesses vie with exhibitors from elsewhere in Scotland for space at the premier event, PCC business manager Marilyn Wallace explained that the Perthshire Business Fair had proved itself as a first class professional platform. "Businesses realise what an ideal showcase our annual Fair is," she said. "Now in its eigth year, it is undoubtedly capturing the eye of the wider business community in Scotland as well as in Perthshire. "The Perthshire Business Fair just gets bigger and better and this year we're on track for another sellout event with one of the widest and most diverse array of company stands ever gathered in Perth." Ms Wallace explained that the popular event was only possible thanks to the range of sponsors supporting it. This year they include the Royal Bank of Scotland (lunch sponsors), The Famous Grouse (pre-lunch cocktail party sponsors), Campbell Dallas (lunch wine sponsors) and Miller Hendry solicitors (coffee point sponsors). Radio Tay will also be doing a live broadcast from the Business Fair. Other dates to look out for in the Perthshire Chamber of Commerce diary include their monthly members' lunch at Murrayshall Hotel, Scone, on Tuesday, April 25, when Radio Tay managing Director Ally Ballingall will do a one-to-one interview with Project Scotland's fundraising manager Robin Tatler. And on Tuesday, June 6, the monthly lunch gives way to an evening gathering when PCC members will be treated to a tour and supper at bottled water industry leaders Highland Spring in Blackford. |
