"Little Italy in the Heart of Perthshire"

Forget Supermarket Ice Cream: only ten minutes from Perth,
Your very own Ice Cream Parlour, Ice Cream made to
traditional Italian Recipes with real Scottish Milk

Stewart Tower Dairy, Stanley

You simply have to go to this place to see it, it is a real treat! This is a small piece of Italy right in the heart of beautiful rural Perthshire and only ten minutes from Perth. With a keen eye for tradition and sympathetic rural development, Neil and Lindsey Butler have created a destination shop, café and Ice Cream Parlour which is simply very very different. This novel development has been developed from an old round house milking parlour and farm buildings. Traditional building materials and techniques have been used throughout the construction with real thought designed into the stunning views that are available from the many windows. Being a round café does help and ensures most of the tables have excellent views over the local countryside near Stanley.

Unique to this location is the Ice Cream Parlour, Neil and Lindsey use traditional Italian techniques with fresh milk from their own herd of Pedigree Holstein Friesian cows to produce a huge range of fresh Ice Cream and Fruit Yogurts. At last count the range of available flavours was near 50 and rising. And you know the great thing, they will even take your suggestions and if they think it is a winner they will add it to their range of flavours.

Yes, I know we are in the autumn and the nights are drawing in, but next time you have ice cream on the shopping list, skip the Supermarkets and treat yourself to a lovely cup of coffee with a relaxing view and an Ice Cream to Go. Yep! These clever entrepreneurs have a growing business in take home Ice Cream in small, medium and large sizes to suit every size of family.

There are loads of advantages to buying your Ice Cream here, you can watch it being made on the premises, and you can see the cows where the milk comes from. During Spring Neil and Lindsey ensure some of the calves are close by for all to see and especially the kids. And for all you families out there looking for a real child friendly destination then be assured Neil and Lindsey are keen to promote their child friendly welcome being busy parents themselves.

So next time you have a morning free or an afternoon, take a jaunt out to Stewart Tower Dairy, half way between Bankfoot and Stanley and take some time out to savour some fantastic hospitality and stunning views with a great cup of coffee and a taste of Italy on top.

Only in the Ice Cream business since April 2006 is no barrier to the quality produced by the team of Stewart Tower Diary Ice Cream. At the 2006 Royal Highland Show they “scooped” (excuse the pun) Gold the top accolade for quality and superior taste.

Stewart Tower Diary was assisted in its business development and diversification by the team at the Small Business Gateway and part funded under the Farm Business Diversification Scheme.
