The Chamber
Onwards to the STARS!
by Maureen Young, Director Perthshire Chamber of Commerce
The race for the prestigious Perthshire Chamber of Commerce Business Star Awards 2006 is really hotting up as judges begin the difficult task of selecting the most outstanding candidates from this year’s record entry.
Businesses from all over Perth and Kinross are vying for eight category accolades but with their eye firmly fixed on the coveted Bank of Scotland sponsored overall “Business of the Year 2006” title.
And Chamber business manager Vicki Unite said judges faced an almost impossible task to select the best from a field of extremely high quality entrants.
“The range and quality of entrant for the awards is very impressive indeed,” she said. “The judges really have their work cut out for them but they’re all experienced professionals who I’m sure will bring the cream of the candidates to the winners’ rostrum at our gala Star Awards dinner in Crieff Hydro on November 23.
“Perthshire Chamber of Commerce Star Awards are recognised as an indicator of business excellence and I can understand the appeal for entrants vying to win one for their company trophy cabinet. We’re looking forward to seeing who reaches their goal in November and rewarding their achievements.”
Advance bookings for the black tie awards dinner at Crieff Hydro, with guest speaker broadcaster Sally Magnusson, are already being taken and a further invite to apply for tickets has been issued.
